December 2015 - Vegas

Michelle and I went to Vegas right after Christmas. Grandma and Kristy were supposed to come but decided not to. We stayed in some awesome condos that would have been even more amazing if it was a bit warmer. We went to Terry Fater and the Blue Man Group. We ate too much, rode the rides at the Stratosphere and the New York Rollercoaster, and gambled. Michelle was such a good sport to go with me on those rides! I loved the roller coaster. The other ones were fun, too! I would like to do them at night sometime. I went from $5 to $86.59 on one of the machines. I was pretty happy! The boys had a blast while we were gone as well. I love how many grandparents they have that love spending time with them!

December 2015 - SLC and Sick Kids

Greg and Michelle used to take their kids for a weekend and stay in a hotel and do Christmas shopping. They were generous enough to take us this year. The trip had been planned for a while, so I was hesitant to reschedule because of sick kids, which I really probably should have. They were pretty miserable, but still had some fun. They got tired very easily. I think they had an extreme version of croup. They were fevered with a terrible cough. Cole was ok, though, just the younger two were sick. We went to a toy store in the mall and they each picked out presents for each other and Chris and I. We ate at the mall, too, and then went to see the lights at temple square. On the way home we ate at Maddox. It was pretty good! Cole got to see Santa, but Connor wanted nothing to do with him...

December 2015 - Random Pictures

Connor is such a stinker. He told me that if I was a bad mom he was going to get rid of me. I ask how. He thinks for a minutes and tells me that he is going to tape me up in a box and wait for the package truck to come. He would then tell the package truck guy to take me away. Where, I ask? To Kajsa's house. He did tell me he would come visit me. I asked him how he would come visit me since I wouldn't be there to drive him. He said he would drive. I told him he was too short. He thought, then said he would steer and Cole would do the pedals. Cole wasn't thrilled with that idea-- he told Connor that they would probably crash! I love his crazy imagination.

Connor also told me on the way home from a sleepover with Nana, "I want to be a family with Nana and live on the mountain with her. I want the house we are going to to be our old house and Nana's house to be our new house." I'm so glad that he loves it there so much, but it makes me a bit sad sometimes as well. Dang kid.

We have had several people shoveling our driveway for us. I think I only had to do part of it once-- Christmas morning. People did come over later in the day, though, to discover it was already done. When Connor sees someone out there, he either goes out and helps or yells hi from the door.

Connor had his Christmas preschool program at a nursing home. It was so funny! The songs and dances were so, so cute, but I didn't get to see him do any of them until he got home. He told me on the way there that he and Lucy wanted to climb to the top of a huge tree so they wouldn't have to sing. When we got there, he did his very best to be incredibly still and not smile. There was one time he did start to dance a bit, but quickly caught himself and went back to being still. When I asked him why he wasn't singing after, he told me that he was singing in his head the whole time. Connor hates performing or being in the center of attention, which seems so crazy to me because he is so outgoing and friendly to everyone he comes across.

Above: the thoroughly disgusted look he gave Ms. Karri when she tried to get him to sing!

Cole gets so excited about different events at school. Pajama day is always his favorite! He loves his footie jammies. He complains if I ever buy his pant/shirt sets.

Connor is doing great in the kitchen. He even opens his own cans now. He did cut his finger once when he tried to get the lid up and out, but it hasn't happened again since we talked about it.

Cole's headstand is still pretty impressive. Even with two legs in one leg hole he can do one! I need to get him back in gymnastics. He really wants to do swimming as well. He gets much more excited about swimming.

Michelle has helped with pretty much all the decoration in my house so far. I love how it makes it feel more like a home. I'm so glad that she is willing to help!

One of Cole's friends mom's, Camille, brought over a 'basket of sunshine' for us after she learned that Chris had cancer. She is the sweetest! I love this idea and will definitely be using it for someone else when the time comes!

Carson has the cutest grins. He puts his whole face into it every time! It's hard to catch a real smile. On the right is what he did once when I asked him to smile. Love that mouthful of food!

I'm still volunteering weekly at the computer lab for Cole's class. I love watching him with his classmates. He has become much more confident! He does need to work on getting his assignments done quicker, though. I think he overthinks things way too much and has a hard time narrowing down what he wants to focus on! He is doing very well in school overall, and I am so, so proud of him.

Nana gave Chris this new giant water bottle. Since he can't use a straw right now, I started to use it. Then Carson decided it was his. He gets upset with me if I try to take it from him, but it's so heavy when it's full that he has a hard time carrying it. It's rather entertaining to watch!
