November 2015 - Chris

Chris went back to work for 15 days (he only had to work 4 of them) to reset his short term disability benefits. When he is home he spends most of his time in bed propped up on lots of pillows. Carson sneaks in there every chance he gets and likes to sit on the bed with Chris. That boy is struggling big time with Chris being sick, and I know Chris misses him just as much!

He started radiation and chemo this month too. Radiation is Monday through Friday until he has hit 33. Chemo was weekly for 7 weeks starting a week before radiation. He had to be fitted for the mask to ensure he is in the right spot each time. Kinda crazy.

November 2015 - Thanksgiving

As usual, we had several different Thanksgiving dinners. They were all delicious. I was glad Chris was up to coming to them. There was a lot of medical talk, and I was pretty emotionally drained by the end of it. We left rather early at the last dinner of the day, which was at Amber's. Grandma Christensen has officially moved to Idaho Falls. She and Kristy are right up the road from us now.
I invited my family over and served leftovers from all the other dinners we had. It was awesome. :)

November 2015 - Nana and Cousins

We have all been able to spend a lot of time with Michelle, whether it be at our house while she is helping with the kids, or having the kids go to her house for the weekend. We have loved it! Sissy is getting so big. My boys all adore her.

November 2015 - Shooting

We met Greg and Michelle at the gun range here in town for our last date. It was fun, although I could tell Chris wasn't feeling his best. It was fun to watch him do something he loved so much. I did pretty good, too, at least with one of the guns. :) I also got to shoot a giant one. It seriously kicked so much! Kinda fun, though! I think I need to shoot more regularly to fully get the hang of doing everything on the gun myself.

After shooting, we went to McKenzie River to get dinner. We left shortly after our food came because Chris was getting nauseous. When we asked for our check, the lady told us that someone had already paid for our meal. I wondered if it was someone that had recognized us from the Cancer Center, but I guess this lady just has a wonderful habit of doing this. Little things like this are amazing!

November 2015 - Random Pictures

Everyone loves to play the piano. Carson can climb up all by himself, but it usually makes me a bit nervous so I ask Cole to stand behind him. Carson climbs up and down a lot, and has figured out where the power button is along with the volume.

It's always a fight to figure out who gets to blow the candle out! I use that as a bribe sometimes to get them to do what I ask. Connor discovered that he could sharpen BOTH ends of a colored pencil. He spent a good 20 minutes at the table sharpening each one. He was SO excited to show me what he had figured out.

Carson has also learned to move the stools around and can climb on them. These stools really suck for this age. They're hard to sit on and kids are always falling off. Occasionally the older boys fall off too. It drives me nuts. Carson still only likes a handful of shows with his favorite being the Elmo and Pets show. He will watch that one for the longest!

Carson is always so excited to see his brothers when they get home. He loves to gives hugs. Sometimes he will go back and forth between his brothers because they both hold their arms out and say, "Hug? Hug?" It's pretty sweet. He always tucks them in at night, too. Bedtime does not go well if I put Carson down before the other two. If they are up playing, that's where he wants to be too.

Cole's tooth has been getting extra wiggly. It REALLY needed to come out because it looked like it was twice as big as the other ones. I put him to bed one night and a few minutes later he and Connor came running up the stairs holding a bloody tooth. I was so relieved he did it by himself! I have been dreading having to pull teeth for a long time. Cole wanted to show his class, so he put it in a ziplock by his backpack. The next morning I found him sleeping by his
backpack- He didn't want the tooth fairy to come and take it
before he got to show his class!

I wanted to get a few costumes for next Halloween when they were on clearance. We keep our costumes out all year long and they play with them fairly regularly. Most of them were too small for Cole, though. Spiderman and the dragon were a pretty big hit! It is so fun to watch them wrestle and play, especially when they're all dressed up.

Connor was so sweet and rubbed Carson's head while they watched a movie together. I believe Nana was here with them while Chris and I were at the doctor's appointment. Cole is so funny about organizing. He is always rearranging his books on his nine cubby shelf and laying them out to see.

We got to have Hazel and Gemma over for a couple of nights when Jessica had her new baby girl, Theadora. They call her Teddy for short. My boys always love having them play, and they always play so well together.

Connor loves watching the house being built beside us and spends lots of time at this window. He always shows whoever comes over how cool it is, too. I've had to clean off the window sill quite a bit because they like to eat and watch at the same time. Connor doesn't like being downstairs by himself. At least a couple times each month I will find him curled up in the living room floor when I wake up.

Where's your nose?! Haha. This kid is such a good eater, too. He is not very picky at all!

Carson always puts cords around himself like a necklace. It cracks me up. Cole has been getting bloody noses from hell. Once of them seriously soaked all the way through his pillow and got the mattress protector all wet. He thought he looked pretty cool in the shower! We have started putting Vaseline in his nose and started Reliv (to get vitamin K, which is supposed to help) and they seem to have gone away. I remember once when he was maybe two he woke up in the middle of the night crying. I went in to get him and his face was covered in blood. This was his first major bloody nose. I was so scared and didn't realize what it was. I grabbed him out and he puked blood up EVERYWHERE. It was so gross! I was glad Chris was home to calm me down.

Carson likes to climb into bed with Connor when it's time to tuck him in. He climbs in and pulls the blanket up over himself. One of these days I'll let them have a sleepover and see how it goes!

Carson loves this little high chair. If he sees it in the garage, he points and makes noises until we bring it in. He climbs in and out and buckles it over and over. I let him sit up at the big table with us for dinner but decided it's easier and less messy to keep him in his high chair.

Carson has so, so many awesome smiles. I love him to pieces!

Michelle bathed Josh's little girl in the sink. I had forgotten how much faster and easier it is to bathe babies in the sink instead of the tub. I'm pretty sure Carson has gotten bathed way more since she did this then he had in the last several weeks. Carson also packs his stool around. He's getting pretty good at getting what he's after and has figured out he can reach the light switches too.

Connor climbed under the tree and said, "Look! There's a talking present under our tree! Best present ever! Carson can eat an entire frozen burrito along with a big spoonful of cottage cheese in one sitting. He has quite the appetite!
