For Connor's birthday, I wanted him to wake up to a room full of balloons. I didn't want to stay up really late or wake up really early to blow them up, so I hid in my bathroom while the boys were playing and knocked them out. After I was sure Connor was asleep, I started moving the balloons over to his room, which is across the house. It took so ridiculously long to get them all there! Moving balloons across the house was much more time consuming than I was expecting.
| It took him a few minutes to wake up enough to really look at them. |
| He would get down on his hands and knees and bulldoze through them. |
| We had Cyrie and her kids come over for dinner before his party, and Emilie came home with Chris from the family reunion in Malad. No one ate very well, but I guess it wasn't a very kid friendly meal - spinach and mushroom smothered chicken. I should have known better! |
Connor has been obsessed with dinosaurs. Cole has been choosing "The Land Before Time" from Netflix, and they both really get into it. They are always roaring at each other. We chose to do a dinosaur cake for him. It was chocolate with oreo cream cheese frosting, and melted chocolate chips to pour over the top. It thickened a little faster than I was expecting, so we used a blow dryer to get it to drip down the edges a little more. We found chocolate rocks at Orange Leaf to finish it off.
| It was pretty windy, so we had the two professionals light the candles for us. |
| I love this picture. He is watching him so intently! I guess he wanted to make sure he didn't get too big of a bite! |
| Giving a bite to Grandma. |
Present opening always takes quite a while because he gets distracted by everything that he opens. He really liked this little golf set, although it seems to be more fun to hit people and things rather than the golf balls.
Grandma always gets each boy a present on any birthday. We love books! Especially giant ones that you can hide under. There is a picture of a Triceratops in the giant book. It is being eaten by a T-Rex. Cole was very concerned that 'Sara' (The Land Before Time) was being eaten. It was entertaining to listen to what he would say as he was looking through the book.
| We made a triple batch of bubbles for his birthday party. I figured quite a bit would get spilled. Everyone had little white spots on their shirts from bubbles popping on them. |
This picture makes me laugh - I hit the button a little earlier than I intended.
| Cole really wanted to try out Connor's new umbrella, but it wasn't raining. Chris got the hose out for him so he could see what it was like. |
| Kristy and Connor. |

| Grandma Jenni & Connor. |
| Lanie shading Grandpa Greg. |
| Uncle Clay & his 'little tike.' |
| We played with sidewalk chalk and threw the football around after everyone left. |
| Connor picked at the remains of his cake until we threw it away. |
| I was so excited that Connor got this for his birthday. Spencer and Nancy have one and he loved playing with it at their house! I made sure that Chris put it together before the birthday party, but somehow we managed to forget to bring it out. Oh well! He still loved it... Thanks Ken & Jenni! |
| The next morning, the boys went around with some scissors and popped all the balloons. |
