Cole turned five this year! Since he is definitely old enough to know when his birthday is, we celebrated on his actual birthday as well as did a party later that everyone could come to. I wanted to start out his day right, so I blew up a bunch of balloons while the boys were playing, waited til they went to sleep, pushed them clear across the house (a little more time consuming than I had anticipated) and put them up on his door. He was a little confused at first, but happy after he woke up enough to realize what was happening.
Next up was gymnastics. They sat Cole in the middle while everyone ran around him singing happy birthday. I wish I could have gotten some better pictures... He loved it.
After gymnastics, we have to hurry home to get ready for school. I brought cupcakes for his class and was hoping to time it right so we could stay and have lunch with him, but we got there a little too early. This picture is of him checking the weather for circle time.
I picked him up after school and headed to blast off, where he had asked if Jace and Adalyn could come play with him. We got there was were disappointed to find out that they were closed because they were replacing the carpet. We went to the park instead and played for a while.
Jace and Ellie went to Chick Fil A afterwards with us for an early dinner and ice cream. The employees sang happy birthday to Cole, and he had fun playing in the play area.
After Chick Fil A we headed to Kohls, where I had some coupons to use and he had some birthday money to spend. He picked out a couple toys he had wanted for a while. He had been playing with the Grover phone the last few times we had gone in and thought it was the funniest thing in the world to make his visor flip up and down. He was happy to get to take it home this time. He was pretty exhausted on the way home, and almost fell asleep holding his toys in his arms.
I wanted to have a water day for Cole's birthday party, so we set up a slip and slide and had some water balloons out. Everyone loved it! Even the kids that didn't bring a swimsuit made it down a few times.
My camera takes lousy pictures when it starts to get dark, so Teresa kindly took over. She made me a CD with all the pictures that I need to put on here as well. We just moved and I will have to find it first!
