October 2014 - Halloween

Halloween is so much more fun when you have kids! We all went to Cole's school carnival, where he won the game of rolling up a string on a stick attached to a truck, which had to cross the finish line. He was really close to the line, so he just pulled his stick up to make it go faster. The lady in charge made him finish rolling it, but he still won! Connor didn't want to participate in any of the activities, which surprised me, I think he was just tired. Cole was very specific about what he wanted painted on his face and very pleased with how it turned out. We finished off the evening with donuts in the cafeteria.

We had our ward Halloween party in the bishop's barn, which in theory, should have been awesome. I was a little disappointed once we got there, though. It was dark and dusty, I couldn't put Carson down because it was a dirt floor, and it was COLD! They had a few games set up, but we didn't stay for too long.

We picked up Marley and went to get free scary faced pancakes from IHOP. It was a slightly longer wait than we had anticipated, but we still made it to school on time. Cole and Marley were so funny. They are both a little shy, so they didn't do a lot of talking but they smiled at each other a lot!

I got to help out during his class carnival. I love being able to watch the kids interact with each other. I put together a fishing game where they had to catch a match- Halloween things with the matching letter. They all seemed to love it! Cole wanted to wear his tiger costume, even though it was a few sizes too small. After the carnival, they let all the kindergarteners go around the school in a parade with all the parents and classes there to watch. Cole strutted big time. It was hilarious!

We went trick-or-treating around Belmont Estates. Both boys were willing to go knock on doors while I stayed on the sidewalk. It was the perfect weather, and our subdivision was the perfect size. Hopefully more people will be willing to stay and participate next year! There were quite a few empty houses.
