I always kick myself for not writing about each month right after it happens. I have the worst memory. Since Chris was so miserable and didn't want to be exposed to anything he didn't have to, we had his family (Michelle and Greg, Grandma, Josh and Sissy) come over for Christmas morning. We opened presents and ate. I don't think Chris came out for more than a couple minutes
The boys decorated their gingerbread house and then immediately smashed it. As cute as it was, I would have liked to see it last a bit longer, but no such luck! At least they had fun. They still ate off it for a while until I finally chucked it.
We went to my mom's house Christmas Eve to see Andrea & Joel and Suzanne & David. I love that these two both got married! The boys were adorable in their matching Christmas jammies. Zed and Alf the elves also came out to play and moved around the house. I gave them different rules this time. They could be touched as long as they were put back where they were before bedtime. I'm not sure if I would do it again-- we had to search for elves several times when we were all tired and grumpy!
Connor wrote a letter to Santa at preschool. He asked for a very specific robot and batteries to go along with it. His teacher, being the ridiculous awesome lady that she is, snuck the robot to me. She said she hadn't really gotten it to work, so we took it go grandpa Alan and he got it all fixed up. Connor was ecstatic to wake up to it! Cole wanted a tablet. I have had to take it away several times for him trying to get into things that he shouldn't. On Christmas morning, we looked out in the front yard to see sleigh tracks and bells from Santa... thanks for the idea Nana! The boys thought it was so neat, but Connor was really worried that the reindeer would be missing their bells. I had to calm him down and tell him we could give them back next year. He's so funny! The boys got beyond spoiled this year. Connor still didn't want to sit on/look at/by seen by Santa, but I did catch him pretending to be Santa for Cole. It was pretty cute.
