March 2013 - Random Pictures

Emmie came over to play while her mom went out. She taught Cole how to play hide-and-seek and  to make noises to help other people find you. We also played Candy Land a couple of times, ate waffles, watched her dance routines, and watched a movie.

Connor started eating this ice cream cone by taking a bite out of the bottom. Cole is, and always has been, an awesome ice cream eater. 

Cole wanted to borrow a necklace from Lanie and Brielle, so instead we stopped at the dollar store on our way home and bought a couple. They were a big hit! A little too big.

Cole was never a tantrum thrower. At all. Connor, on the other hand, has been having a few lately. All this stemmed because he didn't want to put jammies on. It probably went on for a good half hour. Cole and I were rather entertained! Does that  make me a terrible mom? :) Now we use the video to teach Connor to not be a naughty boy. He actually likes watching it.

Connor and I went to visit Cole at preschool. It was one of the first decent days of the year, so everyone headed out to play on the playground for a few minutes before the buses came. He loves going to school and especially loves his teacher, Mrs. Barrand. We are heartbroken that she is retiring after this year. 

Cole's friend Jace comes over to pick Cole up in his power wheels. Cole loves it! Jace's little sister is only a couple days older than Connor is. It's the perfect play group, especially since I like their mom so much!

Cole has been watching "The Spooky Walk" on youtube. He always comes home from school singing songs I have never heard of, so we look them up. Thank goodness for google!

Chris must have borrowed my camera. I found several pictures of his beautiful truck on there.  

 Connor managed to get his jammies stuck on the sit-n-spin. He tugged for a few minutes before screaming for help. Don't mind the mess, Cole was camping out on the living room floor since he was sick and throwing up so much.

Cole thinks it's funny to have Connor sit on his lap sometimes.

March 2013 - Easter

We had a small Easter Egg Hunt in our house Sunday morning. We had to hold Cole back to Connor could find some on his own. I put one teddy graham in each egg so they wouldn't get too over loaded with candy.

After that we got ready and headed to Cyrie's ward for Brenden's baby blessing. After that, we went to Amber's for dinner and an outdoor egg hunt. They separated the older kids and younger kids and did one for each. Cole had a belly ache and wasn't up to running around much but he was still able to get lots of eggs.

March 2013 - Cole's Sleepover at the Hospital

Cole wasn't able to keep anything down for a couple days, so we took him into the doctor. He determined that he was dehydrated and needed to be admitted to the hospital for 24 hours for IV fluids. We ran home and gathered our stuff, then headed in. 

Poor Cole curled up in the shower after another round of puking.  

 He was definitely not feeling good when we got there

 He cheered up a little bit after I let him call the nurses in a couple times to get socks, movies, and tell them thank you for taking such good care of him. The nurses, Denise and Andria, were SO good with him and went out of their way to help him happy. He watched "Brave" and "Peter Pan" several times. The next morning he was feeling a little better and was starving. The nurses couldn't let him have anything until the doctor made it in to OK it. After he ate he got to ride in the wheel chair over to take chest x-rays, then back to the room. He cooperated so well for the x-ray staff. They let him try on their huge heavy gloves, too.

They have a small toy room that was down the hall from his room that we spent quite a bit of time in. We also did a lot of rides around the floor in both the wagon and with him riding on the IV stand thing.  

Connor kept himself entertained by riding this princess car around the floor. He stayed on there for a looong time until he somehow crashed and needed some TLC.

Once they were ready to take the IV our, Cole decided that he wanted to keep it in. They convinced him to take it out anyways.

Home and happy! He was feeling quite a bit better.

Cole actually loves going to hospitals, at least after the IV is in. The hardest part for me is when we first get there and they have to put the IV in. This time they wrapped him up in a blanket so he couldn't move because Chris warned them that he would fight. I wandered around with Connor but I couldn't get far enough away without leaving the Pediatric Unit to not hear him crying and screaming, which makes me cry, too. I'm glad that Chris was home that day and could help us. I'm also glad that we have so many awesome people who were so willing to help with Connor and bring Cole treats. When we are home Cole always says what a good time he had at the hospital and how he would like to go back.

March 2013 - Buffalo Wild Wings

Connor LOVES eating ice. Generally I fish it out of my cup of water for him, but this time Chris thought to order him his own cup of ice so I wouldn't have to share. 

It kept him entertained and happy until our food came.

He also loves ranch. I let him have the little bit that was left in my container.... he didn't really get as much as it looks like he did! He's so fun to watch. :)

February 2013

We went to Inkom for a sledding party with Chris's step-siblings. It was the first time the boys got to go 'real' sledding. The hill was sooo long that you were flying by the time you got to the bottom. Connor wasn't a fan of it but Cole liked it quite a bit. After sledding we all headed inside for some soup and hot chocolate. Ryan made a snow cave for the kids to play in. Cole didn't want to get out! He thought he should sleep in there. Crazy kid. I thought it was a little creepy in there

Later we stopped to visit Greg and Michelle. This picture is a little blurry but it is so sweet.
They seriously adore each other.

Dale and Braden slept on our couch. Cole was so happy they were  there when he woke up!

 Dale is just about to move to Denver to live with Rachael and her family until he goes on his mission. 

We will miss him.

We have been looking for MONTHS and MONTHS for this movie. The primary president 's keys got dropped behind the couch during a meeting at my house. When we were trying to get them out we came across this! I don't know how we managed to miss this before.

 Cole has taken hundreds of pictures of himself on my phone the last couple weeks. 

These are two of my favorites. Handsome, huh! 

This was Connor's first time through the carwash. He was a little on the nervous side!

A friend of mine has let me observe her making cakes. She is gooood! Here are a couple of my attempts. They look alright until you put them next to one of hers!

For my birthday Chris and I went to find the perfect jeans at Buckle. I was a little disappointed; I had heard so many good things about their jeans that I was expecting to go in there and have a million that I couldn't decide between. After trying on every pair in my size in the store, we only left with two. Cyrie watch the boys for us. They make jean shopping pretty difficult. I tried to go while Cole was in preschool and I just had Connor. Every time I had no pants on he managed to slip under the door and take off. I'm glad he never got too far!

Every time Cole comes home in these clothes (grey sweat pants and white turtle neck) I know that he had a little trouble in the bathroom area at school. His teachers are awesome to take care of him with no complaints, and luckily most of the mistakes are aiming errors when he is already in the bathroom. Today I asked him what happens to his clothes and he said, "My penis was pointing up and I got pee on my shirt and my pants." At least he knows what's happening! :)

We broke out the fisher price and lincoln logs when Brielle and Lanie came over to play.
They loved them just as much as I did growing up!

We found a recipe on pinterest for healthy cookies. All you have to do is mix together bananas and oats. We added some vanilla and cinnamon to make them a little more exciting. They were delicious! When the kids were done, it looked like they had tried to wash their hands in cookie dough. They had fun getting messy!

Connor hated baths for the longest time. I don't know what changed but now you can barely get him out of there.

If you have never eaten in the bathtub, I would highly recommend it, as would Cole. 

When Brielle and Lanie came over, they each brought a little white dog. When it was time to go, Lanie grabbed hers and Brielle (and everyone else) looked all over the house for the other one. We couldn't find it anywhere, so we let Brielle, who was in tears, borrow Cole's Tigger. After they left, Cole went to Connor's room and came out saying, "I love hiding Brielle's dog from her." I was so shocked! I was talking to Chris later and apparently Cole has been playing a new game where you play hide and seek with a toy. I'm hoping this is all he was doing rather than maliciously keeping this dog from her so he could play with it.

Cole has always fallen asleep in some crazy places, (sitting up, standing up leaning on couch, under chairs in the kitchen...) but falling asleep on the toilet is the best one yet! He told me he had to go, and when I went in to check on him he was fast asleep.

Connor has been refusing to use sippy cups lately. He loves to use the cups with the built in straw so he can blow bubbles like Cole.

Connor's first time eating spaghettios.... he loves them as much as Cole does!

 Did I mention what an awesome eater Connor is? He loves everything, especially meat. His good eating has actually encouraged Cole to eat a little better.
