June was a pretty good month for us. We had a schedule that we were able to stick with for the most part, which included reading for at least 20 minutes after breakfast, T-Ball two nights a week, Library on Wednesdays, and the park on Thursdays. I also incorporated a weekly cleaning schedule. Sadly, this was the only month we were really able to do this. It got way too hectic after that!
I seriously love babies in black. I think they are so cute! I definitely tend to dress my kids in more of the non-baby looking clothes. I'm not a fan of the tacky pictures most baby clothes have on them.
While I was watching Veta, Hazel, and Gemma, I curled Veta's hair and gave her hair curling lessons. Some of her curls turned out great, and others... not so much. I'm glad I have so many nieces since I just have my boys, and I'm glad they live pretty close.
Michelle and Josh came up for a bit and Michelle ended up taking the boys home with her. They got to spend some time with Uncle Clay while he was in town, which I'm sure they loved.
The library reading program has been so much fun to participate in. They give out awesome treats! We headed to Chick-fil-A to get some free ice cream along with our lunch. That is definitely one of our favorite lunch spots. We also got free kids meals from Applebee's. When we went, Carson was a little grumpy so I spent a lot of time holding and nursing him. Cole and Connor are old enough that they don't need help eating, which is awesome, but not quite old enough to know not to harass the people in the booth behind us. Connor stood up, turned around, and poked the lady behind us. She also had a three year old, so she was very understanding and didn't mind playing with him until we left. I was glad she wasn't bothered, especially since I was nursing and couldn't really contain Connor. He loved it, and actually invited her to our house. He is so friendly!
Ryan coached T-Ball again, so Cole got to be on the same team as Lanie and Brielle again. We didn't practice one single time this year, but he got the hang of it pretty quick and seemed to have more determination than last year. Connor was pretty sad that he didn't get to play.
We have been picking up our produce from Provident Produce. It is much cheaper and locally grown, when possible. It is a hassle to drive all the way across town at 8:00 each night, leave my kids in the car in their jammies while I wait in line to go through the trailer to pick out what we want, but it get us to be more creative with what we eat. I don't know how much I will do it once the cold sets in, though. Cole is on baby duty, and if Carson starts to fuss he rolls down the window and yells for me.
One morning, Connor was sitting at the table. He kept playing with his belly button, then looked at me and said, "Mom, this is where the noodles come from." I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, but he always has me laughing!
I woke up one morning to a fully dressed Connor playing in his dinosaur habitat, which he pulled all the way from his closet into the kitchen. That thing is not light... I was pretty impressed!
We had a s'mores pie at Shari's. The boys picked out all the teddy grahams and marshmallows.
Katie, Kayla, and Evelynn came to lunch with us, then we headed to the zoo after. I put Carson in his sling for the first time. He loved it! He slept almost the whole time, and sucked on his thumb a little bit. We got out of the zoo just in time; it was sprinkling when we walked out and by the time we got in our car, it was raining so hard that I could barely see where I was going. It was intense!
Connor has been wanting to pick his own clothes. I show him the colors on his shorts and tell him he needs to find a shirt that matches one of the colors. He did really good picking out a matching color, but didn't understand why I wouldn't let him wear his striped shirt with his shorts. :) He will learn one day...
We also went to the zoo with Sarah and her kids, and her mom, who we met at T-Ball. Sarah is actually Cole's primary teacher's daughter, so it was fun to have his teacher cheering him on at T-Ball, too. Slade was so funny; he wore his T-Ball shirt and hat to make sure that Cole recognized him.
