May 2014 - Random Pictures

Carson had Jaundice, and was given two bili blankets to take home (one for his back and one for his belly) at his two week check-up, where he also got circumcised. Poor kid! I'm sure that it wasn't comfortable to have the bili blanket cord pushing on his little diaper. He had to have it on for a few days before his levels went down enough. When we had to take him into the doctor to get his heel poked, he didn't cry very much, if at all. He also didn't cry when they gave him an IV in the hospital. They kept him in the NICU for both nights we were there because his oxygen levels were a little bit low.
I am so in love with these three boys! I love how Connor and Cole are both so excited about Carson. They love to hold him, look at him, and help with anything I ask them to do so long as it relates to Carson.

Josh borrowed our car, so I pulled the carseats out so he wouldn't have to deal with them. I woke up to find Connor stapped into his. I have no idea how long he was there for, since he usually gets up an hour before I do, but he was super happy when I finally found him!

We made bird feeders out of toilet paper rolls, peanut butter, and bird seed. We hung them on the trees out front and waited anxiously for the birds to come and eat them. We were never lucky enough to actually see the birds eating, but they were both empty a couple of days later.

A couple days before I was scheduled to be induced, we headed outside to play. I pulled some toys out of the garage that have been packed up the whole time we have lived in this rental. Connor tried the bike but couldn't quite figure it out, but he did great with the basketball hoop! I wish we had a smaller ball handy that fit through the hoop a little better.

Connor and I put together Carson's pack and play for him to sleep in our room with us for the first year, or until he is weaned. It took forever! Attaching the diaper changing part is so confusing. We finally got it done, though, and he was so proud!

Connor asked Suzanne to hold him, and she did. A few minutes later, he was sound asleep! They both adore her, and I'm sure Carson will as well.

Cole had a gymnastics showcase a few days after Carson was born. I didn't want to take him into a crowded gym, so we stayed home. He had plenty of support, including Grandma, Dale, Brodi, Suzanne, Connor, Grandpa PA, and Grandma Jenni and Grandpa Ken. Dale was in charge of videos, but they were a little blurry and pretty long. As usual, Cole did awesome!

We ended up with a huge bag of birdseed from the bird feeders we made, so we filled up bowls and scattered them outside. Even after the whole huge bag was spread out, we never managed to see any birds eating any of the seeds.

I was so happy that I had my camera out and ready when he smiled! I think he was only about five days old when I took these two pictures. He is the sweetest!

Carson loves baths. And I love baths. It works out great! Connor wasn't happy that I would't let him climb in with us. He is way too splashy though!

This was Cole's very favorite toy when he was younger. Ken and Jenni bought it for him, and he was so excited when we pulled it out for Carson. That kid has a pretty impressive memory!

The only upside to Carson having Jaundice was that I was supposed to supplement with formula, which meant the boys could help me feed him. The both loved it and kept taking turns. Carson did pretty good with the bottle, but didn't drink the whole thing.
They broke ground on our house the day Carson was born. Kind of exciting! We will be waiting anxiously for it to be finished so we can move in and get settled. Hopefully we will stay in this house for a while.

Connor always watches the bus drive off, and won't come back in until it has left the subdivision. He knows to stay on the sidewalk, and since we are the only house on this side of the road, he doesn't have a whole lot of sidewalk to run on. Robin, the bus driver, is always really good about giving both boys stickers and letting Connor play on the bus and look at her flashlight. We are really, REALLY going to miss having her as his bus driver!

I seriously can't get enough of this baby and his cute little profile! I wish he would stay little forever.

Connor is such a kissy little boy. He loves giving kisses! It melts my heart.

These are pictures of me and my best friend that I found when we were little. I would guess sixth grade? Pretty much all my childhood memories involve her. We had so much fun!

Cole found my hand pump, and wasn't quite sure what it was for, but he liked that it sucked his belly up! Cole and Connor took turns using it... I made sure to wash it after. :)

I sent Connor to Cyrie's house for Cole's preschool graduation. He had fun hanging with the girls! Cole was so cute at his graduation. They sang some songs with little dances and then had a little tea party after. It was so fun to watch!

I have been doing vitamin B12 injections. I got my first one on the way home from the hospital. I have been so very impressed with them! I hardly cried (dang postpartum hormones get me every time) and I had so much energy that I cleaned out the entire house the first week I was home from the hospital!
