July 2015 - Bear World

One of the first things we did once Theresa and her kids got her was Bear World. I got a car pass off Half Price Deals, so it was a fairly inexpensive trip. We were pretty dang impressed with everything. We went through the animal area first, seeing things like white elk, then into the bear part, where they were tons of bears. It looked a lot more natural this time than when I went back in middle school. We got to follow a tour bus who was throwing bread out to the bears, so we saw the standing up against the bus, and sitting, like teddy bears sit. I had no idea bears actually did that! The kids loved every minute of it. We explored their petting zoo next, which was awesome! They had a tons of animals I would have never expected in there, like deer and baby deer, a pig, something else with fuzzy antlers, and lots of weird looking chickens. We spent a long time in there. Next we headed to the rides, which were a big hit. There were no lines and no charge per ride, so the kids rode them to their heart's content. Even Carson was able to go on some. Bear World may have to be a yearly tradition!
